fl- idejn biex jinqara u anke jiżdied mal-kollezzjonijiet kulturali
f’pajjiżna.
Inkompli ninkoraġixxi lilkom li torganizzaw tant b’passjoni dawn
l-attivitajiet, wirjiet, kunċerti u bosta avvenimenti oħra biex
inkabbru u nsaħħu dak li jagħmilna nazzjon uniku fil-mod
ċelebrattiv tagħna ta’ festi bħal tal-Għid, filwaqt li nawguralkom
f’isem il-membri tar-Reġjun Tramuntana, is-Segretarju Eżekuttiv u
l-istaff kollu, l-għid it-tajjeb.
Holy Week is here once again. An important moment for
Catholics. As a Region, we are committed to giving a place to our
cultural heritage, which is great in quantity and quality. I mentioned
religion, because we are aware of different religions in our Region,
which we also respect. However, our country still fully embraces the
Catholic faith which we give the respect that it deserves.
In the localities belonging to the Northern Region, we find beautiful
and even ancient traditionslinked to this time. Apart from Mosta
and Naxxar, nowadays various activities are carried out in other
villages, including a procession in Mġarr, and lights related to this
time in San Ġwann.
The other localities welcome exhibitions by individuals, groups and
musical societies, that for the second year, we wanted to give them
a space and help to spread their information about what they have
prepared for the public, through this booklet.
I admit that I wished that we had a better response, but I under-
stand that everyone has their own different ways of advertising their
art. We want everything to be collected in a booklet, so that we even
leave a written legacy for those to come after us. Although social
media is very popular nowadays, all that is printed in a booklet will
also remain there forever, is quickly found and has its beauty that it
is held in hand to be read and even added to the cultural collections
in our country.
I encourage all of you who organize these activities, exhibitions,
concerts and many other events with such passion to grow and
strengthen what makes us a unique nation in our way of celebrat-
ing holidays such as Easter, while I also wish you on behalf of the
members of the Northern Region, the Executive Secretary and all
the staff, a Happy Easter.
